Ghanaian actress and producer Tracey Boakye has shared her deep disappointment over what she describes as betrayal and ungratefulness from her junior colleague, Kyekyeku.
In an emotional TikTok live session, Tracey recounted how their relationship, which started on a promising note, soured due to repeated instances of what she called “deliberate mistreatment.”
Tracey revealed that the bond began in 2021 when a senior colleague sent her a video of Kyekyeku praising her in a movie scene. Deeply touched, she decided to extend a helping hand, inviting him to her home and gifting him $2,000.
According to her, the gesture came from a place of kindness and had no ulterior motives, but it left her feeling hurt when Kyekyeku seemingly began to distance himself.
She expressed her frustration by questioning how often the actor had appeared in her films since their initial encounter, suggesting that the relationship was strained from early on.
Despite being let down several times, Tracey gave Kyekyeku another chance when she cast him in her movie Stubborn Ghost.
The film was a major success, and she saw it as an opportunity to strengthen their professional connection.
However, when it came time to shoot a sequel, Kyekyeku ignored her calls and messages, leaving her feeling abandoned and undervalued.
Tracey shared that she had proof of her numerous attempts to reach out, including messages that she said would make anyone sympathize with her.
She further explained that her disappointment wasn’t about money, as she paid Kyekyeku for his work on Stubborn Ghost just like any other actor, despite the significant financial assistance she had previously offered him.
Instead, what hurt her most was realizing that his behaviour seemed intentional.
