In an interview on The Delay Show, Ghanaian content creator and skit maker, Kelvin Sampane Addo, popularly known as Akonoba, opened up about his personal life, addressing long-standing rumours about his sexual orientation and his naturally feminine traits.
Akonoba, known for his humorous skits and online presence, took the opportunity to clarify a misconception that has followed him for some time.
Speaking with Deloris Frimpong Manso, he explained that while he has always felt a certain level of femininity, it does not define his sexuality.
“I feel a little bit feminine. Whoever knows me well knows that I have been like this since childhood. While growing up, I felt a little bit girlish.
“But I cannot kill myself over this,” he stated, adding that this part of his personality has been present since his younger years. “I am not entirely feminine, but I do have a slight feminine side. That is how I was born, and I cannot do anything about it,” Akonoba confessed.
While acknowledging this trait, Akonoba was firm in addressing the speculation surrounding his sexual orientation.
“I am not gay; I am very straight. No male has ever approached me,” he clarified. This statement came as a direct response to rumours that had circulated about his sexuality based on his behaviour and persona in the public eye.
Akonoba also shared insights into his interactions with women, explaining that he does not actively pursue them, but rather, women are naturally drawn to him. “I don’t approach women; they make advances at me.
“Personally, I have always been handsome since childhood. And since I am not a stone, women naturally come my way, and I do get involved with them,” he confidently said.
