Ace writer and actress, Lydia Forson has taken on the issue of society’s scrutiny and frustration towards single women.
In a post sighted by GhanaStreeetJournal, the actress questioned why the society ridicules single women but not the men who fail to fulfil their promises of commitment.
Forson also points out the hypocrisy of a society that ridicules single mothers while labelling women with high standards as difficult.
Taking to her X platform on Monday, July 8, Lydia Forson shared;
“I will never understand how women are ridiculed for being single mothers and not the men who left them.
“Like how do you call a girl irresponsible for believing that a man who promised to do right by her, didn’t? Same society will call you “difficult” for having high standards.”
Lydia Forson was also at her vocal best recently regarding the increasing malicious behaviour on social media, where people spread false information to tarnish others’ reputations.
She highlighted the trend of creating fake accounts to disseminate this propaganda, which is then blindly reshared by others without verification.
She emphasized the alarming ease with which a single lie can potentially ruin someone’s life. She took to X to say:
“Social media can be so dangerous man! Someone can just tweet an allegation from an anonymous account, another retweets and next thing you know we’re all sharing it like wildfire! It’s really scary when you think about it. All it takes is one lie to destroy a person, just 1.”
