Brother Sammy has clarified that his marriage to his wife who resides abroad is not for convenience, contrary to rumours circulating in certain circles.
Despite confirming his marriage, the controversial gospel artist chose not to reveal his wife’s identity.
He emphasized that he financed the marriage, demonstrating his commitment and responsibility.
This revelation came during a discussion with his colleague Empress Gifty, the current host of U Cook on UTV, who inquired about his marital status.
“I’m married, no one gave me money to marry. It is my money, that time I was playing ‘shabo’,” he explained.
He firmly denied claims that he married for a visa, stating, “I married because I love her, not because I wanted a visa.
“If I married because of a visa, I would have run away a long time ago. It’s real love.”
Days before his appearance on UTV, Brother Sammy was hosted by Giovani Caleb on Showbiz 360 on TV3 where he expressed concern over the disconnect from emotions among women in modern times, attributing it to financial hardships.
He emphasized that many women now engage in hook-up culture as a way to cope with financial challenges.
“In the past, women reciprocated love in romantic relationships, but now they tend to prioritize financial stability over emotional connection when pursuing relationships.”
