I Could Stop Doing Music Today and Never Go Hungry – Kuami Eugene

For many artists, the pursuit of fame and fortune is what drives them to work tirelessly in their careers.

However, for Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene, his motivation goes beyond the financial rewards that come with success in the music industry.

In an interview with Amansan Krakye on Property FM, Kuami Eugene shared an insight into why he continues to create music despite achieving considerable financial success.

“Maybe if we talk about finances or monetary terms, like someone who has achieved so much fortune from music, then as for that one I could stop doing music,” he said. “Because I think that I have been able to accumulate so much money that if I decide to stop doing music today, I would never be poor or go hungry.”

For the Angela hitmaker, it’s clear that his passion for music surpasses the material benefits. He elaborated, saying, “But doing music for me is not just about making money; the passion is also part of it, and the love for the music and to put information out there all the time.”

In a world where many artists come and go, Kuami Eugene’s mindset is a refreshing departure from the usual narrative of wealth-driven success.

He emphasized that his ultimate goal is to inspire and motivate his audience, particularly through the messages embedded in his music.

“I want people to listen to my music in the morning and feel inspired or motivated to work,” he explained. “So if I stop doing music, all these messages from me won’t be fulfilled.”

While he’s thankful for the financial success that has come his way, he remains focused on leaving a legacy that transcends the numbers in his bank account.

“So it’s not all about money, but as for the money, by the grace of God, I have acquired a lot,” Kuami Eugene continued. “But it’s about leaving behind a legacy for my songs to be played even at my old age.”
