Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh has opened up about a harrowing experience that tested his integrity and resilience, shedding light on how he navigated false accusations and personal tragedy.
In an interview on Joy Prime, the actor recalled how a seemingly innocent interaction with a woman nearly derailed his reputation.
“She came in under the disguise of being a costumier. She was so beautiful that I could have easily fallen for her temptation, but I didn’t,” Attoh revealed.
“She was disappointed that I didn’t give in. I asked myself, why would I take advantage of someone in my position? If I had done it, it would have come out as a bad story.”
However, his decision to maintain his principles came at a cost. “Because I didn’t give in, she swore to spread rumours about me, saying I was gay.
And sure enough, by the next weekend, the news was all over Graphic Showbiz,” he recounted.

The baseless allegations, fueled by the woman’s vendetta, cast a shadow over his career and sparked widespread gossip.
Attoh, who has built a stellar reputation in the entertainment industry, admitted that such experiences could easily break a person.
But for him, they became an opportunity for growth. Reflecting on his ability to thrive despite the rumours and the personal tragedy of losing his wife, he credited his passion for acting as his anchor.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. I’ve been blessed through all the pain, and anything that has affected me negatively has inspired me to do better,” Attoh said.
“My work is the reason why I keep going. If you’re on this planet, there’s a purpose for you, and it’s not just about chasing your dreams or personal achievements. So, I quickly turn to my work to keep moving forward.”
