Former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Ghanaians following his removal from office.

In a statement issued on March 14, 2025, he said, “I thank God Almighty for His blessings, guidance, and protection throughout my tenure. To Ghanaians, I am grateful for your prayers and unwavering support.”

He acknowledged the overwhelming outpouring of love from well-wishers, saying, “The encouragement I have received in the past 24 hours has been deeply moving.”

Dr. Dampare extended appreciation to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for appointing him, stating, “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as the youngest IGP in the Fourth Republic.” He also thanked President John Dramani Mahama for their brief but cordial working relationship.

Reflecting on his journey, he noted, “From a General Constable to IGP, my 35-year career in the Ghana Police Service has been nothing short of fulfilling.”

He further expressed gratitude to religious and traditional leaders for their prayers and guidance, civil society organizations for their support, and the international community for their engagement.

To his colleagues in the service, he said, “I deeply appreciate the dedication of the Police Management Board and all officers. I wish you well in your continued service to our nation.”
