Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has opened up about his extensive business ventures, describing himself as a seasoned entrepreneur with a track record of success in logistics and transportation.
During an interview, he recounted his journey, stating, “I am a proper businessman. I had a group of companies.
We were doing courier, logistics, and transport. My companies worked for major clients, including Ghana Manganese, GOIL, and Dangote’s cement factory.”
He highlighted his pioneering role in the industry, saying, “I was the first to introduce Mammut trailers into Ghana, those huge trailers you see in Accra.
“I also imported 52,000-liter capacity tankers from Turkey and worked with Barclays to finance operations.”
Afenyo-Markin’s comments come as part of his response to recent reports linking his companies to past financial difficulties.
He acknowledged that like any business, there were challenges but emphasized that all debts had been cleared.
His revelations shed light on his extensive business background, reinforcing his image as more than just a politician but a businessman with experience in managing large-scale operations.
