Esther Smith has disclosed that her life was divinely planned, recounting a compelling narrative about her mother’s unsuccessful attempt to terminate her pregnancy.
The veteran gospel artist shared that her mother considered abortion due to her status as a student and the anticipated backlash from her father, who was known for his strict discipline.
In a twist of fate, as her mother went to Okomfo Anokye to execute her intentions, her sister unexpectedly intervened, preventing the plan from succeeding.
“My mother was a school girl when she was pregnant with me. She was going to abort me at Komfo Anokye because she was scared of her father because she was the only child.
“So, on her way, she met her mother’s sister who asked her where she was going. The woman followed her until she confessed her intentions to her. My father did not also like the idea of giving birth.
“So the woman reported to my father that my mother was going to abort me and she was stopped.
“She confessed that she had taken a lot of drugs to help with the abortion but none of them worked,” she told Nana Romeo on Accra FM.
Esther Smith remarked that the recent developments indicated she was meant for greatness, which is why the abortion, despite being a different method of termination, ultimately failed.
She noted that a pastor had informed her mother that she would become a significant figure in the future.
“My mother said she met a pastor who told her that the baby she is carrying would grow to become useful to Ghana. So, when God started lifting me, she told me about the story,” she added.
