During an interview on Okay FM, Sonnie Badu shared an interesting revelation about Kwaku Oteng’s sudden withdrawal from sponsoring his highly anticipated Rhythm of Africa concert, despite initially promising to do so.
This unexpected turn of events posed a potential threat to the success of the concert as it emerged that other prominent figures also failed to honour their promise to the UK-based Ghanaian artiste and preacher of sponsoring his program.
Sonnie Badu also clarified that he did not finance his concert using his expensive Rolex watch, as some online portals had falsely claimed it dominated entertainment in Ghana for a couple of hours.
He expressed his frustration with how Ghanaians tend to cherry-pick certain parts of interviews to fit their agendas, which resulted in his ‘Rolex’ interview being blown out of proportion. It is important to note that Sonnie Badu’s concert incurred a significant cost of over $180,000, making it impossible for his Rolex watch to serve as a sponsor.
Tru News Report earlier reported that Sonnie Badu claimed he faced difficulties in securing sponsors for his highly anticipated Rythm of Africa concert, which led him to decide to sell his valuable Rolex watch to finance the event.
Despite encountering some technical issues, the concert took place successfully at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) over the weekend.
Additionally, the Ghanaian singer and preacher, who is based in the UK, shared insights into his personal life. He disclosed his preference for exclusively dating women of Jamaican heritage and eventually marrying one.
