Hammer of the Last 2 fame has revealed that even though social media and digital platforms offer significant benefits to artistes and other stakeholders in the creative industry in terms of exposure and revenue, he was clueless about how to leverage them until a Ghanaian musician stepped in to help.

The legendary music producer, known for developing the careers of Kwaw Kese, Sarkodie, Edem, Tinny, Obrafuor, Dogo, and other Last 2 artists, admitted on 3Music TV that it was Joey B who enlightened him on the potential of digital platforms.

He stated:

“Do you know who made me get on digital platforms? It was Joey B. Joey B called me someday and said Hammer I’m not Spotify and Apple Music and I can’t find your works and I’m like what should I do with it? He said you need to put it on there.

I didn’t mind then. I was selling bread and that’s what I was eating. I bought three cars in a span of one year. These were not small cars, I’m talking about my Jeep and others.

The bread was good. So he told me that I needed to get my work online. So I was introduced by Worlasi to a distributed who then became my main distributor and that’s how I went on all these digital platforms,” he said.

During the same interview, he emphasized his principled nature by implementing a rule that restricts artists from bringing their girlfriends to the studio during recording sessions.

The legendary producer, during his appearance on the esteemed 3Music TV channel, known for its exclusive focus on entertainment topics, firmly stated that any artist who disregards this rule will be treated like a student, and any resulting embarrassment will be solely their responsibility.

“I am a very detailed person. One thing everybody knows about me is ‘Don’t bring a girl to the studio,’ because when you come to my studio, you are a student.

“If you bring a girl to the studio to impress her and you’re not careful, I will check you like you’re a student and I won’t care whether or not there’s a girl there. So if you don’t want to be embarrassed, don’t bring anybody,” he said during the interview.
