Derrick Kobina Boney, professionally known as DKB, has praised John Dramani Mahama, highlighting his captivating personality.
The Ghanaian comedian and influencer mentioned that despite participating in the Dumsor Must Stop protest against Mahama during his presidency, he still admired him.
DKB shared that Mahama warmly welcomed him just four months later during a performance for Mahama and the Ethiopian Prime Minister.
The comedian expressed that Mahama’s inclusive nature deeply touched him, almost leading him to apologize for his previous actions.
“Mahama doesn’t discriminate! In 2015, I did a dumsor demo against him. Four months later, I performed for him and the Ethiopian Prime Minister. During the photo ops, he embraced me and showed me love.”
“The regret filled my heart at that moment. I nearly knelt down to apologize to him,” he posted.
This post was in response to comments by fellow entertainer Agya Koo, who declared his admiration for Mahama despite his support for the ruling party.
Agya Koo said despite his unwavering support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), he has a positive relationship with members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), including the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.
He made these remarks at a recent funeral where he was met with anti-NPP chants while he and his band were performing for the mourners.
Agya Koo also mentioned that he has regularly communicated with the NDC flagbearer for the upcoming 2024 elections. He condemned the partisan chants and warned against the potential chaos it could incite, urging people to refrain from engaging in such behaviour.
