Big Pokey, a rapper from Houston and a founding member of the group Screwed Up Click, passed away after collapsing onstage. He was 45.
The cause of death wasn’t known right away. Pokey, whose real name was Milton Powell, passed away late on Saturday night in Beaumont, Texas, after passing out during a performance. Pokey is seen assuming the microphone in front of a crowd in a video that has gone viral online and on social media.
Pokey’s death was announced in a statement posted to his Instagram account. His representative also told Houston’s Fox affiliate Kriv that the findings of the autopsy are still pending.
