John Dumelo has reacted to allegations of assaulting a University of Ghana student at a voter registration center in Legon.
According to a previous report from MyJoyOnline, Dumelo got into a confrontation with a student named Dacosta regarding phone usage restrictions at the center.
The situation escalated into a verbal altercation that almost turned physical before security personnel intervened and removed Dumelo from the scene.
A political analyst later claimed on social media that Dacosta suffered severe injuries and was hospitalized at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
However, it was later discovered that the photo of a bloody knee shared by the commentator was unrelated to the incident and did not take place in Ghana.
In light of this, a fan of Dumelo alerted him to the inaccurate news and included a screenshot of a circulating publication online, urging the actor to take legal action against the individual for spreading misinformation.
John Dumelo, however, dismissed the idea, stating that the individual is insignificant and not worth taking to court.
In law, it’s advisable not to sue a man of straw. If I sue, it will take him 68 years to pay.
