The Hennessy Cypher 2022 is a showcase of Hip-Hop and Rap Artistry in African.
The 2022 Cypher is a six-minute demonstration of mastered rap style and brilliant wordplay that has received more than 150,000 views since its release.
The verses contain memorable and relatable bars such as “Heavy is the head that wears the crown, but mine is a perfect fit,” “Drowning in a gutter, hoping the water will flow,” “Hold your horses, the game is in stable,” and “Dropping all of my verses down in italic”; reminiscent of Jay-“write Z’s my curses in cursive” in Otis.
The Hennessy Cypher is now one of the most anticipated annual releases for hip-hop and rap fans, as it has evolved into a congress of up-and-coming and established rappers who create great tracks spontaneously over a single beat. The Hennessy Cyphers, which have featured over 60 Nigerian Rappers since its inception, are undeniable evidence of Hennessy’s influence and support of rap and hip hop in Nigeria and throughout Africa.
This year’s cypher features Africa’s top artists from Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa: Octopizzo, M.I., and Vector, M.anifest, and A-Reece!
