U.S. President Donald J. Trump has issued a strong statement on his recent meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, asserting that the Ukrainian leader is not ready for peace.
Trump, who recently reclaimed the presidency after defeating Kamala Harris in the election, expressed disappointment in Zelenskyy’s approach to negotiations, claiming that he “disrespected the United States” in the Oval Office.
In an official statement, Trump emphasized the significance of the meeting, saying, “We had a very meaningful meeting in the White House today.
Much was learned that could never be understood without conversation under such fire and pressure.”

He went on to reveal that Zelenskyy’s attitude during the discussion made it clear that Ukraine is not prepared for a peace deal if the U.S. is involved.
“It’s amazing what comes out through emotion, and I have determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations.”
Trump made it clear that his administration does not seek leverage over Ukraine but rather a resolution to the war.
“I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE,” he stated emphatically. “He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for peace.”
