Ghanaian rising R&B and afro-fusion singer Gyakie’s latest track “SCAR” with North London’s JBEE tops the Apple Music chart in less than 24 hours after its release.
The song that was released today, April 21, 2023, broke all previous records by topping the Apple Music Charts under 24 hours.
Since the release of her debut single “Love is Pretty” in 2019, Gyakie has shown herself to be a talent and a force in the music industry.
“Scar” is a heartbreaking song that shows all sides of a relationship’s struggles. The song combines R&B and hip-hop, and drill music which clearly portrays both sides through its music and lyrics.
Her unique voice and great talent have led to her collaborating with famous musicians like Davido, Omar Lay, Mayorkun, AKA, Blaq Jerzee, Major League DJz, and Diplo. Her song “Forever” went viral and became a worldwide smash, eventually receiving over 150 million streams on all platforms.
About Gyakie
Jackline Acheampong was born on December 16, 1999. She is a Ghanaian R&B and afro-fusion singer who goes by the stage name Gyakie, aka Song Bird. Since the release of her first single, “Love is Pretty,” in 2019, Gyakie has been all over the entertainment news. This led to the release of her second single, “Never Like This.” In August 2020, the song “Forever” from her five-track EP “Seed” made her famous. It was played on the radio and topped the charts in Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria. Nana Acheampong is Gyakie’s father.
