Guinness World Records Not Fair To Ghanaians- Anita Akuffo

Anita Akuffo has criticized Guinness World Records for their unfair treatment of Ghanaian contenders whose attempts were dismissed due to a violation of resting rules.

The Media General journalist expressed her dissatisfaction with the disqualification of Afua Asantewaa and Failatu Abdul-Razak, stating that it was unjust considering the significant resources and time they had invested.

Akuffo suggested that the officials should have taken into account their breach of resting rules by reducing their duration period accordingly.

Furthermore, she highlighted the case of Hilda Baci, who also violated the same rule. However, Guinness World Records adjusted her cooking duration by deducting the time she spent cooking, ultimately allowing her to claim the title for the longest cooking marathon according to their standards.

Recall that in a statement shared on her Instagram account on Sunday, March 3, Chef Faila revealed that her attempt did not adhere to certain strict criteria established by Guinness World Records (GWR).

Reportedly, Guinness communicated the outcome to her via email, and to avoid a similar drama as Afua Asantewaa, Chef Faila promptly disclosed the result on her Instagram platform on March 3.

Chef Faila kicked off her Guinness World Record longest cooking marathon on January 1st and wrapped it up on January 10th at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale. She successfully finished a 227-hour cooking marathon after spending 10 days non-stop in the kitchen.

During the marathon cooking event, Failatu demonstrated outstanding culinary skills by preparing a wide variety of dishes while also highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the people of the region.
