Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, the Ghanaian woman striving to break the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon, has received support from the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).

In an official statement, the GTA announced that, in collaboration with the event organizers, the location for the attempt has been moved from the Aviation Social Centre to the Akwaaba Village near the Airport Roundabout.

The decision to change the venue was made due to the immense public interest surrounding this remarkable event.

“The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), official partners of the forthcoming Guinness World Record [longest singing by an individual]-breaking attempt, wishes to inform the general public that the event, originally slated for the Aviation Social Centre in Accra, will now be held at the Akwaaba Village being constructed near the Airport Roundabout, Accra, from December 24 to 27.”.

“The venue change is to help accommodate the huge numbers who have expressed interest in attending to support our own, Afua Asantewaa, breaking the record. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.”

Furthermore, Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum has expressed her profound admiration for the late Ghanaian Dancehall sensation, Ebony, and expressed her heartfelt desire to witness her groundbreaking achievements.

She passionately stated that she adored every aspect of the talented singer, who tragically lost her life in a devastating car accident in February 2018. Afua emphasized that Ebony’s unwavering dedication to music deeply resonated with her, capturing her heart in an instant.

During an interview with Joy Prime’s Roselyn Felli, the journalist openly shared her sentiments when asked about individuals she would have loved to see at the event, excluding her family.

“She’s no more, Ebony. I loved her passion for music…She loved music and I could easily resonate with her. I remember I used to tell my husband during her performances that ‘I could do exactly what she is doing.’ But it is just unfortunate that I was an entrepreneur and you know in those positions you can’t do certain things.
