Ghanaian musician Quamina MP stated that his departure from the music label GroundUpChale was mutually agreed upon, and he has fulfilled his financial obligations by paying the expenses made for the shooting of three music videos.

During an interview hosted by Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, the musician known for the popular song ‘Wiase Yɛ Dɛ’ provided clarification regarding the rumours surrounding his alleged dismissal from the record label.

When asked if he’s still with GroundUpChale, he said, “No, we are not working anymore. I just think it’s time to go our ways and try and do our own thing… I just see it as life and its time. As time goes on, you will meet people for three or four years, and maybe nothing really happens, and a time will come when you don’t really meet each other anymore. So I just see it as time, like there was a time when we worked with them and now we are not working with them.

Quamina MP said he, along with his fellow artists Kwesi Arthur, Kofi Mole, and Twitch4eva, made the collective decision to depart from the record label after some time spent under its management. “I wasn’t fired by GroundUpChale. Nobody was fired. We all felt it was time to leave, so we left,” he said.

A number of his most successful singles, including “Wiase Y D,” “Party,” and “Amanfour Girls,” were reportedly released with the help of Ground Up.

He went on to say that the label had helped him in other ways to get his music out there, such as by shooting videos for him. “GroundUpChale shot three videos for me, but I paid back. They were also granting studio support and song uploads and stuff.”

Quamina MP expressed his gratitude for the support he received from the label, despite his current separation from it. He said his time under the label was “amazing.”
