The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has dismissed claims that it has frozen the bank accounts of Richard Nii Armah Quaye, the founder of Bills Micro Credit Ltd.
In a statement issued on March 27, 2025, the authority clarified that while a tax assessment of GH₵30 million has been raised against him, no enforcement action, including the freezing of accounts, has been taken.
The GRA urged the public to disregard the reports, emphasizing that it follows due process in all tax matters and only resorts to enforcement actions when taxpayers fail to cooperate.
The authority further encouraged individuals and businesses to voluntarily fulfill their tax obligations to avoid penalties and legal consequences.
It reiterated its commitment to fairness and transparency in tax administration, assuring the public that all assessments and actions are conducted within the confines of the law.
The development comes shortly after Quaye’s extravagant 40th birthday celebration at Black Star Square, which brought together high-profile figures from business, politics, and entertainment.
The star-studded event featured performances from Davido, Sarkodie, and Stonebwoy, reinforcing Quaye’s deep connections within Ghana’s elite circles.
