Gospel singer Joe Mettle has decided to hold his Praise Reloaded concert at the Accra Sports Stadium this year and has explained his choice.
Noting that secular artistes Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy have successfully filled the 40,000-capacity stadium in the past with their respective concerts, Mettle clarified that his decision was not intended to prove anything.
During an interview with Amansan Krakye on Property FM, Mettle expressed that his choice of venue was influenced by God, emphasizing the divine power that can enable him to ultimately fill the auditorium.
He said “The decision was to open it up to allow more people. Over the years we always have the rules and we have always ticketed it. Sometimes people can afford sometimes people cannot afford.
“For this year when we were praying about the venue and got said the Accra sports stadium, one of the things my spirit said was that open it up and get more.
“Allow more people to gather so there are no restrictions. I can afford, I can’t afford, all is taken off the table, just make your way there. We have a few partners helping us with a bus ti bus the students to the stadium.
On whether Praise Reloaded which takes place on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium is for a bragging right he said “It’s not a bragging right. It’s that the name of the Lord will be glorified.
“At the same time, we won’t take the stadium and allow it to be empty. We want to fill it to God’s glory but not to say we did it. We didn’t do anything.
“People can decide to come by themselves or not, God is the one who touches their heart to move and come so it’s not what we are doing, we are doing our part but it’s not for a bragging right,” he said.
His posture has sparked a new conversation centred around entertainment news in Ghana.
