Ghanaian artistes have lost their identity- Joe Frazier

Veteran rapper Big Joe Frazier has expressed his concern regarding the perceived loss of identity among Ghanaian artists.

To elaborate on his viewpoint, he highlighted the tendency among musicians to emulate current trends rather than infusing their unique style into the system, thereby failing to establish a distinct identity that would differentiate them.

He lamented the absence of originality, observing a pervasive sense of monotony in mainstream music in recent years.

Discussing this issue further with Afia Owusu on XZONE on TV XYZ, Frazier pointed out that the music played on radio stations often adheres to a uniform rhythm, which he described as monotonous and potentially detracting from the listening experience.

“If an artist sees that their colleague is succeeding with Azonto, they will abandon their own style and follow the same path,” he explained, a comment that has sparked a new discussion around entertainment news.

Joe Frazier, renowned for his exceptional ability in rhyming, has been actively participating in media interviews in recent times, likely as a strategic move to revitalize his career.

In a similar on UTV not tool long ago, he shared his perspective on how technology has simplified the process for contemporary rappers in the industry.

He also delved into the contrast between the pioneers of the Hiplife genre and the rising talents within the field.

Frazier noted that the demanding environment that previously fostered credibility and integrity within the industry has undergone a significant transformation.
