The official launch of the Ghana Music Awards UK 2023 is scheduled to take place on Friday, August 4, 2023, at the Labadi Beach Hotel, in Accra, Ghana.
Industry players expected to grace the occasion are executives of both organising bodies as well as managers of musical artistes. The list of potential attendees includes music fans as well as promoters, industry players, and journalists covering the entertainment industry.
The purpose of the award programme is to honour and celebrate the achievements of Ghanaian musicians throughout the year.
After their maiden event in 2016, the Ghana Music Awards UK are now in their seventh year. Even though the awards ceremony takes place in London, the Ghana Music Awards UK kicked off in Accra to draw attention in entertainment in ghana.
The Ghana Music Awards UK opened submissions for Artists, producers, and other members of the music industry to submit their work for consideration in the forthcoming seventh edition on April 12, 2023, and ended on May 30.
Last year, Hip-hop musician Black Sherif swept the night’s prizes, taking home a total of five awards (including Musician of the Year). Akwaboah, a highlife singer and songwriter, got three awards, and Eugy and Headie One each won two.
Meanwhile, hip-hop legend Reggie Rockstone was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and TiC and Zoro King received special recognition awards.
