A recent video showing Hajia4Reall dining with her close friends before serving her 12-month prison term for involvement in a romance scam has surfaced online.
GhanaStreetJournal cannot confirm whether the video was recorded before her court hearing or after.
Despite the challenging situation, she appeared cheerful and upbeat, surrounded by friends such as GH Hyper, Bulldog, photographer Maxwell Jennings, Film Director Abass, journalist Erskine Whyte, and a few others.
Hajia4Real, whose real name is Mona Faiz Montrage, was sentenced to one year and one day in prison in the United States for her role in a romance scam a few days ago.
She was arrested in the UK on November 11, 2022, following her participation in the Ghana Music Awards UK, and was subsequently extradited to the US in May 2023 to face legal action.
The accusations against her were linked to her purported involvement in a series of romance scams and other deceitful activities totaling more than $2 million.
In February 2024, she admitted guilt to the charges and was handed a five-year prison term.
However, on Friday, June 28, she was finally sentenced to one year and one day in jail after more than a year of proceedings.
According to Inner City Press, the prosecution sought a 37-month sentence for the accused, but the judge chose to be lenient. “I sentence Ms Montrage to one year and one day in prison, the extra day to allow “good time.”, the judge said.
