2024 has seen a surge in Guinness World Records attempts, particularly from participants hailing from Ghana and Nigeria.
The latest endeavour, known as Game-A-Thon, involves engaging in a video game marathon for an unspecified duration to secure a place in the prestigious GWR.
Vanessa Azoumaro, a female student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), took on the challenge by playing Ghost of Tsushima.
According to Ghanaweb, Vanessa initially aimed for 48 hours, having commenced her quest on Friday, July 26, 2024, at SG Mall in Kumasi.
To everyone’s amazement, she surpassed all expectations by clocking an impressive 56 hours, 30 minutes, and 43 seconds. Her marathon concluded officially at 5:30 am on Monday, July 29, 2024.
Vanessa, a third-year Social Work student at KNUST, was supported by a dedicated monitoring team to ensure the credibility of her attempt.
She is now gearing up to present her evidence to the Guinness World Record team for validation and approval.
