In Nollywood, two faces have often been compared, with fans and even industry professionals noting their striking resemblance.
Popular actor Nonso Diobi recently opened up about the long-standing rumours of rivalry and the misidentifications that have followed him and his colleague, Mike Ezuruonye.
Speaking on the Labista podcast, Nonso shared his perspective on how the comparisons between them initially frustrated him but eventually led to an unlikely bond.

“Photogenically, we look alike a lot. Sometimes, when I see a poster with Mike on it, if I don’t look closely, I think it’s me. It happened to me a lot, and it happened to him too,” Nonso explained.
This confusion, common among fans and the media, had the potential to create animosity, especially with so many people drawing comparisons between the two talented actors.
However, rather than letting the situation drive a wedge between them, Nonso revealed how they turned it into an opportunity.
“The constant misidentifications initially frustrated me, but eventually, it became a point of connection between us.
Instead of letting these comparisons breed animosity, we used the situation to our advantage. We convinced directors to cast us together, creating memorable on-screen pairings that leveraged our chemistry and resemblance,” he said.

Their professional partnership turned into a successful strategy for both actors, with fans growing to love their shared screen presence.
“Just the way fans feel about us, we feel the same way too.
“At first, it was difficult, but we made it work and turned it into a bond,” Nonso added. This shift in their relationship is a testament to how two people can overcome initial challenges and use them to their advantage, creating something even more powerful than they initially imagined.
