Renowned Nigerian actor Richard Mofe Damijo, affectionately known as RMD, has weighed in on Ghana’s upcoming 2024 presidential elections, urging citizens to vote with discernment.
Speaking during an interview with Joy News, RMD passionately appealed to Ghanaians to prioritize the country’s welfare by electing a leader who genuinely has their best interests at heart.

“They shouldn’t make the mistake that others want them to make,” RMD emphasized, cautioning against decisions influenced by external factors or partisan rhetoric.
“They should vote for the best man, someone who has their back. Not everyone vying for the position has Ghanaians’ best interests at heart. And I know you understand this.”
In a candid moment during the interview, the celebrated actor revealed his admiration for John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer. While admitting he had never met Mahama personally, RMD expressed a deep appreciation for the former president’s achievements.
“Every time I pass through the airport, I’m reminded that he was the one who built it,” he said, referring to the modernization of Ghana’s Kotoka International Airport under Mahama’s administration.
“I have a lot of Ghanaian friends who’ve told me about all the good work he did as president. My favourite is Mahama because I like him, and I’m sure he’s the one Ghanaians will vote for.”
