Urban gospel artist Evans Scott recently opened up in an interview with Joy News, addressing a past social media controversy and the lessons he’s learned along the way.
Scott spoke on Joy News about how deeply he believes in staying true to his faith and mission, emphasizing, “I cannot modify something that I stand for.”
He referenced the Bible to make his point: “Anybody who lays their hands on a plow and looks back is not fit for the kingdom.”
Despite facing frustration over misunderstandings from others, he firmly believes that the path he is following is divinely chosen. “This is what God has purposed for us to do, and I believe strongly that this is what God wants me to do for my generation,” Scott said.
In the interview, Scott was also asked about his past altercation with an individual on social media.
Reflecting on the incident, Scott shared that while he didn’t regret the exchange, he did recognize that his response may have been a bit harsh. “I think it was a bit hard,” he admitted. “I actually sent a message to apologize to him.”
When asked why the apology wasn’t made public, he explained, “He reached out to me in my DM, and I responded in my DM.”
For Scott, the larger goal is clear: “We are doing this for God. It’s not even about me; it’s about what we’re doing for the Kingdom.”
