Ghanaian gospel singer Empress Gifty has just dropped a new music video for her brand new single, “Awieye Pa.” This marks her first release from her upcoming album, which will be released later this year.

In ‘Awieye Pa,’ the multiple award winner advises his audience not to be bothered by the words and deeds of others because their fate is ultimately in God’s hands and not theirs to decide. 

Empress Gifty reveals the song’s composer, Ewura Abena, was moved to write it after reading Jeremiah 29:11, which reads, “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

The video, which Skyweb produced and directed, portrays a gifted young woman who overcomes the obstacles she encountered in her youth.

Despite having a wonderful singing voice, her family never encouraged her to share it with the world, but she was unconcerned by this. She went to the market to do something and met a man of God preaching, then decided to join him and sing for him.

When her mother became restless waiting at home, she stormed the market to embarrass her and then kicked her out.

Lucky for her, the place where she was made fun of was also where she met the man who would change her life. The man signed her and took her into the studio, and now she’s a famous gospel singer.

Empress Gifty has worked with South African Zaza Mohkheti, and Opanka. “Aseda,”” Fefeefe,” “Epikye,” “Adensiedie,” “Adom,” “Jesus Overdo,” “Jesus Be Too Much,” “Odiyompo,” and “Eye Woa” are among her hit songs.
