In a heartbreaking announcement, gospel musician and U Cook host on UTV, Empress Gifty, shared the devastating news of the death of her beloved mother, Evangelist Agnes Annan.
The actress and evangelist, known affectionately as Agaga, passed away today after a brief illness.
Empress Gifty took to Instagram to express her sorrow.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unfortunate passing of actress Evangelist Agnes Annan today after a short illness,” she wrote.
“She was the mother of gospel musician Empress Gifty. Evangelist Agnes Aba Annan, affectionately called Agaga, was a pillar of strength and love for our family.”
In another emotional post, Empress Gifty shared a deeply personal message, reflecting on the pain of losing her mother. “Nyinaa asa aaa, me nim s3 wo homhom no y3 me ho adwuma nti mensuro,” she wrote in a mixture of English and Twi.
“When all hope is lost, and when things seem tough, I know you are at peace. I know your soul is still with me, and I am not afraid because you continue to guide me.”
She continued, “It is with deep sorrow that I announce the unfortunate passing of my mother, Evangelist Agnes Annan today after a short illness. Evangelist Agnes Aba Annan, affectionately called Agaga, was a pillar of strength and love for our family.”
Amid her grief, the gospel singer expressed her love for her late mother. “AGAGA I LOVE YOU RIP,” she concluded, symbolizing the profound bond they shared.
The family has not yet shared specific funeral arrangements, but Empress Gifty assured followers that further details would be provided in due course.
