During the excitement surrounding who wins the 2024 TGMA Artist of the Year between King Promise and Stonebwoy in the build-up to the prestigious award ceremony, Efia Odo went on the offensive.
Having aligned herself with King Promise in the lead-up to the prestigious awards, Efia Odo launched a vigorous campaign advocating for King Promise to win the top prize at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, rather than Stonebwoy.
Amid the fervour, she criticized Stonebwoy and disparaged him for competing against newcomers like King Promise.
Her comments primarily targeted the Artist of the Year category, where she argued that a more established artist like Stonebwoy should not win simply to match the accomplishments of other top artists.
During an appearance on United Showbiz on UTV on July 27, which was monitored by GhanaStreetJournal, Efia Odo publicly apologized to Stonebwoy.
She acknowledged that her previous remarks about Stonebwoy were inappropriate and expressed her sincere apologies.
Odo apologised saying “I acknowledge that my comments about Stonebwoy were disrespectful, and I take full responsibility for them. I spoke out of emotion, and I retract my statements and sincerely apologize.”
