The famous gospel trio, Daughters of Glorious Jesus has shared an interesting revelation as contained in an interview monitored by Tru News Report.
The three artistes disclosed that they had the opportunity for a remarkable collaboration with the legendary Daddy Lumba, but unfortunately, an unusual incident prevented it from happening.
While at the studios of DL 106.9 FM in Accra, the trio enthusiastically recounted their experience. They mentioned that they were invited to Lumba’s house for a gathering aimed at strengthening their friendship.
However, an unexpected turn of events occurred when they were served a delicious fufu meal. The delectable dish proved to be so captivating that it caused them to completely forget about the potential collaboration.
Daddy Lumba, widely regarded as Ghana’s greatest musician of all time, is known for his versatility in various genres, including gospel.
This could have been the perfect opportunity for him to harmonize with the talented Daughters of Glorious Jesus, who are also recognized as one of the finest gospel acts in the country’s history.
Daughters of Glorious Jesus, a renowned established Ghanaian gospel ensemble, was established in 1989. The group consists of Cynthia Appiadu, Edna Sarpong, and Monica Owusu Ansah, and they perform in both English and Twi.
With an extensive repertoire of over fifty songs, DoG-J holds the record for the most songs by a Ghanaian Gospel Artist.
Their debut album, Anwanwa Do, was released in 1990 and quickly propelled them to fame across Ghana. By 2019, they had produced a total of 12 albums. In 2019, the trio commemorated their 30th Anniversary in the Ghanaian music scene.
