Sannie Daara, a former Ghana Football Association spokesperson, has waded into the controversy over American rapper, Meek Mills’ video shoot at Ghana’s seat of government, the Jubilee House.
The ‘All Eyes On Me’ rhymer came to Ghana in December for a musical show known as the Afro Nation Concert. It was during the trip that he visited the Jubilee House and took those videos.
The rapper has openly expressed his love for the country which probably saw him extending his stay and making friends with industry players and Ghanaian artistes.
A preview of his new music video shared on his social media platform after his return to the US, depicted the office of Ghana’s President, key hallways, the main conference room (at one time sitting behind the president’s podium), and the sitting area.
Many Ghanaians have found the video disrespectful to the Ghanaian people and a desecration of the presidency.
Sannie, who identifies as a fan of the rapper, in response to a tweet by broadcaster, Victor Atsu Tamakloe that the rapper wouldn’t have such access anywhere in the world, said, “Please don’t underrate @MeekMill His fight to reform the criminal justice system in ???????? has made him an icon with access to many places there & beyond.
