Diminutive actor Don Little has respectfully requested the Inspector General of Police (IGP) George Akuffo Dampare to investigate certain officers who exhibit disrespectful behaviour towards him based on his height.
The actor, who was discovered by Funny Face, revealed that some policemen frequently stop him and make derogatory remarks, which he considers highly inappropriate and unprofessional.
Recalling an incident with a police officer who doubted his ability to drive due to his stature, Don Little expressed his deep concern and emphasized the need for a change in attitude.
He firmly stated that regardless of his appearance, he is a human being with fundamental rights and should be treated with respect, rather than being subjected to discrimination.
“I encountered a police officer who remarked that if not for the ineffectiveness of the laws, I wouldn’t be driving. Am I a monkey or a hunchback?
“We are all human and should respect one another. We cooperate with you, so when you stop someone, please speak to them politely.
“Abroad, policemen are very respectful, but here in Ghana, their attitude is quite terrible and needs improvement. Some officers act as if they will never retire.
“Dampare, I implore you to address your officers. One spoiled maize can spoil the rest. Currently, many policemen are corrupt. This isn’t about hatred,” he said in a video posted by One Ghana TV on their YouTube channel.
