The family of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur have hired investigators to explore potential connections between music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs and Tupac’s 1996 murder.
New York attorney Alex Spiro, known for representing high-profile clients like Alec Baldwin, has taken on the case and is investigating Diddy’s possible involvement.
Diddy, who is already facing federal charges for sex trafficking and kidnapping, has consistently denied any role in the drive-by shooting in Las Vegas that led to Shakur’s death.
The investigation has gained new traction following the 2023 arrest of Duane “Keffe D” Davis, who was charged in connection with the murder.
Davis had previously hinted at Diddy’s involvement, suggesting that the attack on Shakur was orchestrated with Diddy’s backing.
A detective, who testified before the grand jury that indicted Davis, also revealed that Suge Knight, a former Death Row Records CEO, implicated Diddy, saying he was “responsible, if not directly, indirectly” for the murder.
Despite these allegations, Diddy has remained adamant that he had no connection to the events that led to Tupac’s death.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has confirmed that he has “never been considered a suspect” in the case.
Yet, the renewed scrutiny comes as accusations against the music executive continue to emerge, with artists like Eminem bringing up the controversy in their recent music.
The investigation into Shakur’s murder, one of the most infamous cases in hip-hop history, has been ongoing for decades.
The family’s decision to further probe potential ties to Diddy marks a significant development, as public interest in the case resurges.
While Diddy’s legal team maintains his innocence, the recent arrest and unfolding revelations have kept the case in the spotlight, as questions surrounding Tupac’s untimely death persist.
