Family of the late Kofi Owusu Dua Anto popularly known as (KODA) has announced a date for his final funeral rites. This announcement was made at the one-week observation on May 10 in Takoradi.
The funeral rites is expected to take place on Friday, July 5 at the KICC church on the Spintex Road in Accra. KODA died on Sunday, April 21, 2024. His death sent shocking waves to music lovers.
His family after his demise announced that they needed privacy and that they would relay information through a website they developed for him.
KODA’s work on Nii Okai’s Moko Be and Gye W’ayeyi albums brought him recognition as a producer. He collaborated with various gospel artists in Ghana and internationally, such as Nii Okai, Pastor Joseph Gyebi, Danny Nettey, Pastor Joe Beecham, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Joyful Way Inc., Pastor Helen Yawson, Yaw Osei-Owusu, “Ike Nanor”, Eugene Zuta, Jesse Jenkins, Diana Hamilton, and Calvis Hammond. Additionally, KODA formed a music group called The Anointed with his friends in Takoradi, which has provided support to numerous gospel ministries both in the country and abroad.
KODA has released four vocal albums and two gospel jazz albums. His first album, Nyame Beye, and his second album, Waye Wie, gained popularity with hits like “Waye Wie,” “Zion’s song,” “Poma,” and “Amen.”
His third album, Black & White, featured tracks such as “Guide Me O,” “Nkwa Abodoo,” “Obiara Nte Se Wo,” and the controversial “Nsem Pii.” In 2016, he released the album OXYGEN, which included songs like “Adooso,” “Yaa Pae,” and “Chimo.”
In 2021, KODA unveiled his sixth vocal album, Keteke. As a music tutor, he has also released two instructional DVDs on bass and lead guitar, as well as three live DVDs of his major concerts: KODA live (2008), Black and White live (2013), and Oxygen Live (2016).
