Multiple entertainment news sources in Nigeria have reported that Sophia Momodu, the former girlfriend of Davido, is preparing to take legal action against the singer to gain custody of their daughter, Imade Adeleke.

According to these reputable outlets, Davido has filed a lawsuit seeking joint custody of their child, alleging that Sophia has been preventing him from seeing Imade and extorting money from him.

Davido stated that despite their previous agreement to co-parent their daughter, Sophia has not upheld her end of the arrangement, rejecting his housing offer and demanding a monthly rent of N5 million, among other things.

In response, Sophia has filed an affidavit to dispute Davido’s claims and has revealed intimate details about their renewed affair while Davido was in a relationship with his current wife, Chioma.

She refuted the allegations of denying Davido access to Imade, asserting that he had never attempted to see their daughter and had abandoned her because she refused to engage in sexual relations with him.

Sophia has submitted a 102-paragraph affidavit through her legal team, Dr. Anthony Idigbe SAN of Punuka Attorneys and Dr Bimpe Ajegbomogun, to challenge Davido’s request for joint custody. The next court date for the separated couple is set for Friday, July 5, 2024.
