DaBaby Resolves Civil Suit With Homeowner Over Chaotic 2020 Video Shoot

DaBaby, born Jonathan Kirk, has officially put an end to the civil case stemming from a violent altercation during a 2020 music video shoot, avoiding any potential jail time.

TMZ has reported that the rapper has settled with Gary Pagar, the California property owner where the now-infamous Play You Lay music video was filmed.

Court documents obtained on Friday reveal that the two parties have agreed to a comprehensive settlement, and they have jointly requested that the court cancel all upcoming conference dates so they can finalize the paperwork and bring the case to a close.

The incident in question took place when tensions flared between DaBaby and Pagar over disagreements regarding the terms of the video shoot. Pagar claimed that the rapper and his crew had violated filming regulations, leading to a heated argument.

According to Pagar, the confrontation turned physical, and he alleged that DaBaby punched him in the jaw, causing him to lose a tooth.

The incident garnered significant media attention then, adding to DaBaby’s string of legal troubles. However, with this settlement, the rapper has managed to avoid further legal consequences and seems eager to put the ordeal behind him.

While details of the settlement remain private, this resolution marks a positive step for DaBaby as he continues to focus on his music career.

Just as the news of the settlement broke, DaBaby released his latest project, How TF Is This A Mixtape? on Friday, signalling his intention to move forward and refocus his energy on creating new music.

For now, it appears that both DaBaby and Pagar are ready to move on from the drama that surrounded the chaotic shoot, with the case seemingly resolved in their mutual agreement.

Fans of the rapper are likely relieved to see him sidestep another legal hurdle as he continues to stay in the spotlight for his music rather than courtroom battles.
