Ghanaian socialite and activist Efia Odo has expressed deep frustration with the current political climate in Ghana, criticizing both major political parties—NPP and NDC.
In a blunt assessment of the country’s governance, she bemoaned the state of affairs under the Nana Akufo-Addo-led administration and raised concerns about the future of the country.
“The crazy part of all of this is, we still have to vote. Who do we even vote for? Someone will say, ‘the lesser evil.’ Excuse my language but we’re fu**ed as a people and as a country,” Efia Odo remarked, reflecting the growing sense of political dissatisfaction among many Ghanaians.
She further expressed doubt over the possibility of swift changes, even if the opposition party, NDC, were to come into power, noting, “If NDC comes into power, it will take more than 4 years to correct any wrongs. I can’t imagine what NPP will also do if they stay in power.”
Efia Odo also touched on the reputation Ghana once held as a beacon of progress in Africa, lamenting that “overly corrupt politicians have destroyed our reputation.”
She concluded with a powerful statement about the country’s leadership, saying, “We don’t have Leaders, we have oppressors.”
Her comments come amidst widespread public outcry and the arrest of protesters involved in anti-galamsey demonstrations, further highlighting the growing disillusionment with the current administration.
