Ugandan chef Dorcus Bashema Kirabo, also known as Mama D, has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest individual cook-a-thon.

This achievement surpasses the previous record held by Irish chef Alan Fisher. Alan Fisher had set the record at 119 hours, 57 minutes, and 16 seconds in Japan, surpassing Nigeria’s Hilda Baci, who held the record at 93 hours, 40 minutes, and 11 seconds. However, Mama D officially broke this record on Thursday, December 28, by extending her cooking marathon beyond the established mark.

Mama D’s culinary journey began on December 10, and she is now recognized as the new Guinness World Record holder for the longest individual cooking time. Despite already breaking the record, she remains dedicated to further extending her time on the clock.

Mama D’s remarkable achievement places her in the esteemed company of other notable Ugandans who have made their mark in the Guinness World Records.

These include Raymond Kahuma, who holds the record for the largest rolex weighing 204.6 kgs, Joshua Cheptegei, the record-breaking 10,000-meter runner, and Phaneroo Ministries church, led by Pastor Grace Lubega Matovu, which holds the world record for the longest applause, clocking in at 3 hours, 16 minutes, and 1 second, among others.

While Mama D awaits the official acknowledgement from Guinness World Records, she is diligently preparing to submit the necessary evidence of her record for review. Her incredible achievement is a testament to her passion, dedication, and culinary prowess.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s Afua Asantewaa Aduonom has concluded her remarkable journey in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest solo singing marathon.

At present, her team is conducting a press conference to express gratitude towards the media and the people of Ghana for their immense support. Adorned in the colours of the Ghanaian flag, Afia expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the masses for their unwavering presence.

As it stands now, Afua Asantewaa has surpassed the previous record holder by breaking the longest singing marathon by an individual, surpassing the 105-hour mark by clocking 126 hours and 52 minutes.
