Following his Guinness World Record (GWR) controversy, Ebenezer Smith, professionally known as Chef Smith, has finally spoken out about the incident that has been making waves on social media and various entertainment news outlets.
GHOne, spearheaded by Serwaa Amihere, was able to secure an interview with Chef Smith where he revealed the details of what led him to believe he had broken the record for the longest cooking marathon.
The exclusive interview is set to air at 6 pm on GHOne today, July 7. However, a snippet of the interview has been shared online and has been causing quite a stir on the internet.
In a surprising turn of events, Chef Smith publicly asked for forgiveness from Ghanaians.
He even went as far as kneeling and breaking into tears, expressing deep remorse for his actions and stating that he doesn’t deserve to continue living after deceiving everyone.

The full video is expected to shed light on Chef Smith’s thought process leading up to his false claim of being the new record holder, as well as what transpired before his ill-fated announcement at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel.
Ghanaians have been resharing the video, sparking further discussions and keeping the controversy alive since Chef Smith’s initial claim of breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
