Chef Failatu Abdul Razak, known professionally as Chef Faila has shared a new update on social media that has caused quite a stir in the online community and entertainment news sphere.
In the post, Failatu seemed to indirectly reference Chef Smith’s recent cooking marathon controversy by stating that she believes God gave her a platform to showcase Ghana’s culinary talents while insinuating that Chef Smith’s own quest may have been influenced by Satan.
This post appears to be a subtle jab at Chef Smith’s questionable actions, including the fabrication of a Guinness World Record plaque and certificate, as well as his self-proclamation as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
Recall that on July 2, 2024, Chef Smith made headlines by holding a press conference where he proudly declared that he had achieved the title of the longest individual cooking marathon per Guinness World Records (GWR) guidelines.
During the event, he displayed a plaque that he asserted was sent by the record scheme’s organizers, providing evidence to support his assertion.
Nevertheless, there were doubts raised about the authenticity of his claim due to the absence of any official announcement on the GWR website.
Many Ghanaians contended that since GWR had not officially recognized this accomplishment on their platform, Chef Smith’s assertion may be unfounded.
Amidst the uproar caused by this claim, TV3 Ghana, a subsidiary of Media General, reached out to GWR to verify Chef Smith’s statement.
In a message sent directly to TV3 through X, GWR confirmed that the current record holder for the longest individual cooking session is still Alan Fisher from Ireland.
GWR clarified that Chef Smith does not possess the title of the longest cooking marathon and has not been granted any official certificate.
