Charlie Dior has raised some eyebrows with his recent comments about celebrity marriages in Ghana.
The fashion critic Dior shared his views on how public figures portray their relationships, particularly criticizing the way certain celebrity couples present their marriages to the public in an interview on GHOne.
“We hear street talk about them,” Dior said, referring to the rumours surrounding several high-profile couples.
“The fact that they don’t talk about it or put it out there, for me, that’s not genuine. They are portraying everything as perfect at home, which I don’t think is true.” Dior’s statement touched on a common concern that many celebrities face—balancing their public image with the realities of personal life.
While celebrity marriages are often scrutinized under a magnifying glass, Dior believes that being open about struggles and imperfections makes a relationship feel more authentic.
He continued, “We know there’s pressure on celebrity marriages from the public and family. But if you have that celebrity status, you owe us something. You owe us some explanation in some way.”

For Dior, a prime example of a “genuine” and relatable celebrity marriage is the one between actress Selly Galley and musician Praye Tiatia.
According to Dior, this couple is more transparent about their personal lives, and their openness is something that sets them apart from other high-profile couples.
“My power couple would be Selly Galley and Praye Tiatia,” Dior said. “I follow them on Instagram, and they seem more relatable than Sulley Muntari and Menaye.”
He pointed out that their social media presence feels down-to-earth and unpretentious, giving fans a glimpse into their real-life struggles and triumphs.
What stands out to Dior is how Selly Galley and Praye Tiatia share their experiences with their followers, which makes them feel more connected to their fans.
“They make it more relatable,” Dior explained. “When Selly was expecting, she shared her journey, which feels more genuine.”
In contrast, he criticized the way former Black Stars midfielder Sulley Muntari and his wife, model Menaye Donkor, present themselves to the public. Dior implied that their marriage, in his view, seems overly polished and less authentic.
