Kuame Yogot has clarified in a new interview that the song Canopy does not belong to him.
There have been rumours circulating in the media that Kuame Eugene’s latest track Canopy, which was released as a thanksgiving to God after surviving a near-fatal accident, was owned by Yogot.
During an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, the rapper explained that he has several unreleased songs with Rockstar, and Canopy is one of them.
He mentioned that he was featured on the song, but his verse was ultimately removed from the final version, which was disappointing for him.
His ‘confession’ comes days after a Ghanaian music producer responsible for the song publicly called him out for claiming ownership of the song.
In a video reviewed by Tru News Report, the producer, whose name we could not verify, accused Kwame Yogot of being dishonest by allowing bloggers to tarnish Kuame Eugene’s well-deserved reputation.
According to the producer, Yogot falsely claimed ownership of the song, despite only being featured on it and having no involvement in its creation.
The producer emphasized that Kuame Eugene is the creative force behind the song, and had initially planned to feature both Yogot and Lasmid.
However, Eugene ultimately decided to exclude Yogot’s verse from the final version of the song, leading to Yogot’s frustration.
The producer warned Yogot to apologize for his misleading claims, or face potential legal action from Eugene for spreading false information.
