By the Third Year, You’re Crying- Diana Hamilton Reflects On Emotional Struggle of Waiting for a Child

Diana Hamilton has opened up about her journey to motherhood in an emotional and insightful conversation with Caleb Nii Boye.

Reflecting on her and her husband’s years waiting for a child, she shared, “We had no issues, no pressure. Not from my in-laws, not from my side, not even from my manager. He walked with me every day and had no idea I was seeking the fruit of the womb.”

Hamilton explained that the desire for a child was something she and her husband held close to their hearts, but despite the natural longing, there was no external pressure. “I was the one who wanted it; myself and my husband wanted it. He didn’t give me pressure, his family didn’t give him pressure, and my family didn’t give us pressure. All they did was pray for us.”

However, the emotional toll of waiting inevitably crept in. “Obviously, as a woman, you’re married—first year, second, third, fourth. By the second year, you’re worried, by the third, you’re crying, and by the fourth, it becomes worrisome,” she admitted. “And then you start to hear a few odd comments here and there that shake you a bit.”

Despite the challenging moments, Hamilton offered words of wisdom to others in similar situations. “When I meet people going through this, I tell them to trust God. That’s the first thing. His word says there shall be no barren in His house, and at the right time, God will answer.”

She emphasized the importance of enjoying the present moment. “I also tell them that between now and the time God comes through for them, they need to enjoy their marriage. This is the time they have together, because when the children come in, it will never be the same again.”

Finally, she left a powerful reminder, urging patience and faith. “Pray, and trust that at the right time, God will come through for you,” Hamilton encouraged, speaking from her own experience of hope and perseverance.

Diana Hamilton married Dr. Joseph Hamilton, a medical doctor, in 2005. The couple has been together for many years, and they have shared their journey, including their struggles with fertility, in various interviews.

Dr. Joseph Hamilton is supportive of Diana’s music career, and together they have built a strong, faith-based relationship. They are now blessed with children after their years of waiting.
