Hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes has added a new title to his name—Doctor.
The rapper was recently awarded an honorary doctorate from Harvest Christian University during its Winter 2025 Masterclass Commencement in New York.
This recognition celebrates his decades-long contributions to music, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy.
Overflowing with gratitude, Busta Rhymes took to social media to share his excitement.
“WILL NEVER STOP SAYING IT!! THE BLESSINGS DON’T STOP SO WE WON’T EVER STOP NEVER EVER EVER!! DON’T LET NOBODY EVER STEAL YOUR JOY!!! IT’S OFFICIAL!! FROM THIS DAY FORWARD YOU WILL FOREVER KNOW ME AS DR. RHYMES!!!!!”
The rapper, known for his rapid-fire delivery and dynamic stage presence, emphasized what an honor it was to receive such recognition.
“SUCH AN HONOR AND A BLESSING TO BE CHOSEN AND ACKNOWLEDGED IN THIS WAY!!”
Busta Rhymes was not the only honoree at the prestigious event. Entrepreneur Nikki Hunter-Cummins, singer Monique Nikkole, and Senior Councilwoman Dorothy L. Goosby of Hempstead, New York, also received honorary degrees.
Don Pooh, a notable business mogul and husband of Hunter-Cummins, delivered the keynote speech. This milestone adds to an already remarkable season for Busta Rhymes, who was recently honored with the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
