Burn My Church If Bawumia Does Not Win 2024 Elections—Prophet Azuka

As is customary during elections in Ghana, men of God have begun making their predictions about the results, aligning themselves with either John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) or Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

One such prophet, Prophet Azuka, has confidently declared Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the winner of the upcoming elections.

He is so certain of his prophecy that he has even stated that if it does not come to pass, his church should be demolished.

A video shared by Express GH TV on YouTube shows Prophet Azuka expressing his unwavering belief in the predicted outcome.

“Today’s date should be marked, I am saying that Bawumia will win the presidential elections. I am speaking on authority. If he does not win, burn my church premises into ashes,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana, under the leadership of Jean Mensa, has shared a breakdown of activities surrounding this year’s presidential and parliamentary elections.

According to a report from Graphic Online, the EC will begin by receiving nominations for candidates for the elections from September 9 to 13.

This marks the start of the political season’s countdown to the climax. Following the nomination period, the EC will conduct the balloting for positions on the presidential ballot paper on September 23, 2024, and the parliamentary balloting on September 24, 2024

If all goes according to plan, the EC expects to declare the results of the 2024 presidential polls within three days of the voting exercise. In preparation for the general election, the EC has outlined its programme of activities.

This includes a voters’ registration exercise from May 7 to May 27, 2024, as well as a nationwide effort to replace missing voter ID cards starting from May 30, 2024. Before the registration exercise, there will be 56 days of public education on the process, running from April 1 to May 26, 2024.

According to the schedule obtained exclusively by the Daily Graphic, the EC plans to submit the provisional voters’ register to the political parties between July 9 and 18, 2024. Additionally, there will be an exhibition of the voters’ register from July 15 to 24, 2024.
