Rapper Jay Bhad has expressed his concern about the misplaced priorities of the government, which he believes have contributed to high unemployment rates and the increase in armed robbery and other social issues in the country.
The Kumasi-based rapper, who is an offshoot of the famous Asakaa Boys stated that the current focus on building more schools and the proposed construction of the National Cathedral is not necessary at this time.
Instead, he urged the government to prioritize the establishment of industries that would address the unemployment situation and subsequently reduce crime rates to the lowest possible level.
“We can do better for Mother Ghana because we have everything. What the government is losing sight of is the fact that most young people complete school and do not get work to do.
“What the government doesn’t know is that the only way to make the country better is not through prayers but rather by building facilities to help employ the youth.
“That can help fight armed robbery and thievery in our system.
“The country has enough land, and so It is only proper that Industries are built to help address the issue of unemployment.
“I must say that unemployment is the reason why armed robbery is on the rise because a number of the youth are in the ghettos and on the streets even with degrees but cannot get the needed employment,” he said.
