Bridget Otoo, a prominent broadcaster with a strong allegiance to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has cited one instance that would make her vote against John Dramani Mahama in the forthcoming 224 presidential elections.
On July 11, 2024, she took to Twitter to mention that it was pointless for Mahama to participate in the debate that Bawumia proposed, citing his past failures alongside Akufo-Addo as evidence of his lack of capability.
“I will vote against John Mahama if he debates Bawumia! We are not giving a platform to that chronic, unrepentant, untruthful person.
“They can organize a debate for other candidates with him!,” Otoo suggested.
“Nana Addo stayed away from debates and he did just fine!!!,” the broadcast journalist said.

Meanwhile, Bawumia has once again emphasized his desire to engage Mahama in the debate.
He specifically mentioned his interest in discussing the country’s economy, governance, and other significant topics.
Dr. Bawumia expressed his confusion over his opponent’s reluctance to participate in a debate, suggesting that it may be due to fear of revealing the inadequacy of his policies.
“I am looking forward to a debate with John Mahama on the economy, on the country, on governance. But I’m afraid he is running away from a debate.
“His people say he doesn’t want a debate. He doesn’t want the debate because he knows that I will expose the emptiness of his policies.
“He says he has a 24-hour economy that he cannot explain. He’s as empty as an empty barrel. He cannot explain it, none of his people can explain it.
“They said they will be exporting lions and elephants but when we meet man to man we can debate and the country will see where our policies lay.
“We should give the country an opportunity to listen to us. If he chooses not to debate, I will continue to sell my policies,” he said.
